Open Garden & Plant Sale featuring Garden In a Box!
April 7, 2026

Come on over to SSG headquarters and join us for our spring plant sale and Garden In a Box release!

Garden In a Box Open Garden Plant Sale

What is the event for?

We will be available to answer your questions about Garden In a Box and what is in store for future boxes. We will also have native and some non-native plants for sale! If you are curious about participating in future garden boxes, this would be a great time to learn all about it. There may even be light beverages and bites available.

Please be conscious of street parking and your arrival time since this is a residential neighborhood. We are eager to meet all of our garden in a box pilot project participants and those interested in purchasing future boxes. We can’t wait to release our Fall 2026 garden boxes.

What is garden in a box?

Garden in a Box is a professionally designed native garden that includes plants and a guide for homeowners to install themselves. It draws on the same ecological thinking we use in our larger projects, just distilled into a smaller, more approachable format.

The garden is sized for narrow or awkward spaces—places people often don’t know what to do with, or don’t feel are “worth” planting. From an ecological perspective, those spaces are full of potential.

The plant choices focus on co-evolved relationships. Some plants are there primarily as food. Others are there because certain insects need them as host plants—places to lay eggs so the next generation can exist at all.

You don’t need to master that distinction to get started. It’s built into the design. If you want to learn even more, please visit our Pilot Project page and or read more about why we started this on our Garden In a Box blog post! Our pilot project is currently underway, but if you’d like to stay in the loop on future garden boxes and events, attending our open house would be a great place to start. Otherwise, subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop!
